This program provides affordable rental housing to low income families, seniors and individuals. The units are located in both privately owned apartment buildings and cooperative/non-profit housing projects across Nova Scotia.
A rental subsidy is paid to landlords or cooperative/non-profit housing projects and is based on how much you can afford.
This program is managed by the Housing Authorities.
To qualify for this program, you must complete an application form and meet the guidelines for income, residency and core need.
Residents for rent supplement units are chosen from public housing program wait lists.
Your supplement amount is based on your household income and is paid directly to your landlord.
* Non-profit groups and co-operatives select their own tenants.
